What's your name?
Dan Levin.
What's your job description / position?
Game Designer. On Fallout Tactics I've been pretty
busy. My main job is to write all the dialogue for the game but I also
do mission design, storyline and movie/cut scenes with the other designers
(Ed Olson of Micro Forte and Fallout Guru Chris Taylor.
How long have you been doing this stuff?
I've been in the industry for 3 years and doing
design for 1 ½ years. I was in the military before that so I
realized that a job that I can enjoy yourself and be creative is more
important than anything.
What stuff have your worked on in the past?
I just finished Start Trek New Worlds recently.
I also wrote dialogue for Y2K the Game (a very small game).
If you could make any game you wanted, what'd
it be?
Well, something along the lines of an FPS with
RPG elements. I love the action and I'm real big on storyline.
What are a few of your favourite games?
StarCraft, Halflife, M.U.L.E. (for you old timers),
EA's NHL games, Golden Eye, Kingpin, Ultima 2 through 4.
What do you usually do outside of work? (Extra-curricular
activities?)
LA nightlife, inline hockey, play games, and
follow the NY Rangers.
What are a few of your favourite films?
Braveheart, Matrix, Friday (not the sequel),
True Romance.
What was the last film you saw?
On video it would be Mystery Men, which I thought
was very funny. I don't go to the movies much but I watched X-Men on
the big screen, which was very good considering I feared the worst.
Is there anything worthwhile on TV?
Family Guy, Simpsons, news. I gave up on cable
for 3 years but I can now feel it calling to me.
What kind of music do you listen to?
Trance/Hard House, Rap, Rock.
What are a few of your favourite musical artists?
Christopher Lawrence, Ice Cube, Smear (local
O.C. band)
What are a few of your favourite books?
Stainless Steel Rat and Bill the Galactic Hero
by Harry Harrison. All the Dark Elf books by R.A. Salvatore. I've read
so many books that many of them are lost and forgotten in the timeless
void.
What celebrity would you be interested in
meeting?
Hugh Heffner, Adam Sandler, Patricia Arquette.
What's in your home computer rig?
P2 350 with a TNT 1, 128M Ram and the worst modem
on the planet. It's definitely time for an upgrade.
What electronic 'gadget' do you wish you had?
I've always wanted a top-notch digital camera
and I would also like a MP3 player for my car.
What type of car do you drive?
A 93 Cougar XR7 that has seen better days but
it did get me here from New York City.
What type of car do you wish you drove?
Anything but my 93 Cougar XR7
Coke or Pepsi?
I don't drink soda unless I'm in a bar and then
its Coke as a mixer.
Boxers or briefs?
Boxer-Briefs. Very comfortable, good support
and the ladies love em.
