My roommate bought it back when it was in beta. It didn't look too bad but the combat is done through a faux-card game-esque system instead of actual turn-based combat.
Legends of Pegasus look to be the better of the two, right now. Its coming out in another month, I've been keeping an eye on that.
I still end up going back to Moo2 after a while. Galactic Civilizations II was pretty good, but it just seems like these days finding a legitimately good 4X space game is hard to come by these days.
Is it just me? I could spend an entire summer playing Moo2.

Its pretty "meh" to be honest. It is a perfectly fine time-waster, but as previously mentioned the battles are simple and do what they have and nothing more. There is also a sense of repetition since you cant place cities like in a civ game, nor can you build things for specific planets. About a 6/10. I like the look of the ships, battles are kind of cool visually.
