World cup sweepstake
So it's kind of nearly a month too late, but the final hasn't started... we've got 90 minutes left!
Anyway. I'm betting on France to win 2-1.

Well hopefully the diving won't be too bad, would put players like Zidane and Henry to shame if they did that. And given that this is, apparently, Zidane's last ever football match, I'm thinking he's going to try and do some Zidane magic like levitating or something similar.
Anyway, to elaborate on my prediction, I think it'll be 1-1 until extra time, when France will score the winner.

That has already happened unfortunally, but if both France and Italy continue to play like they did in the first half, Italy will win.Spazmo wrote:France 1-0, but I'm worried there'll be a lot of diving of both sides (leading to a goal off a penalty kick or something) and that it'll generally be a defensive game.
The french are going to eat some pizza!

Not one, but two radio channels are right now having competitions about zidane.
They are both asking what the italian captain said to Zidane..
I hate milking like this.. Sports have become such a drama-fest.. or well, maybe it hasn't, but I've just realized it.
Like Tour de dope, it used to be at least a bit interesting. The best thing I've seen so far is the guy who got a 2.5cm deep and 10cm long cut from a #1 sponge glove. Bloodfest for the win!

oh shut up, like what he's been doing for so many years? taking that lot of pressure and insults is no news to him. This is not his first mundial for crying out loud, and also he's played in games of similar stakes with his (formner) teams, like ine champions' league.Mr. Teatime wrote:I feel sorry for Zidane, from what I've seen he's been under a lot of pressure, essentially being the team's manager as well as the player the whole team relies on.
Anyhow at least once he made something similar - he walked on a lying opponent with his spikey football shoes.
BTW Cannavaro is the man. To defend so successfully against such a determined and overall superb attack as France's is pure brilliance. Nice celebrating his 100 game in the national team; congratulations.
