The explanation is by taking away any traces of realism makes it more fun. It's all about shooting everything you see and not worrying about a boring search for ammo. Which is great, because the whole point of STALKER was to scavenge.

Of course none of the assholes at Oblivion-Lost or even the official forums notice this new info. They're easily distracted by pretty pictures. It's such shit. Every conversation over there is about if screenshot #eleventybillion is DirectX 8 or DirectX 9. Who gives a fuck.

wait a sec, there's no more 'scarce supplies' feature in Stalker? Is there actually anything interesting left? Barter? Is that still in?

They're afraid it's not going to make no moneys when it hits shelves.

Since it's been in development so long, they have to make it appeal to the lowest common denominator possible to generate the best possible return

Ironically, this is what will invariably make it fail, hard.

and good. I'm hoping it will.

Actually, no... I think they had a bunch of great ideas and wanted to make it as they say, but in the middle they got praised so much(By Megatron) that they laid back and thought "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF INDUSTRY". A year, two, or three passed, the publisher got pissed off and now they're trying desperately to hurry before 2007.
