At the moment it's restricted to a few special people to post into. Kind of like the sin bin in basketball.
Its function may change as we see what works and what doesn't, but the idea is to get a script working where we can restrict some peoples' posting privileges to that forum only.
I thought it was an american thing. When someone in a sports game does something bad, so they have to sit out on the side for a bit before being let back in.
Uh, you just assign User Groups, right? Create a group that has no access (all rights flags to zero) to any other forums than the Asshats-forum (the mirror image of the "average member" -user group). Then change the user's group between the Asshats and Normal Members, right?
Just as an experiment I have allowed all registered users to post and reply. When DU gets the appropriate script in place so that members cannot post elsewhere then it will have more of a point but maybe in the meantime we should make it a Wastleand-type forum? For the newbs that aren't familiar with the old Wasteland forum - anything goes but "what goes in the Wasteland stays in the Wasteland".
Trust me, it is. You can't setup a group that disallows access to forums that have their permissions set to allow registered users. By default, we can only disalllow people from posting in special "usergroup only" forums but can't prevent a specific usergroup from posting in a forum that is "allow registered users".
... and If you'll note, I just said the same thing twice.
I certainly think I deserve to post there. So come on all ye mods, and march down to the water, something something, and sign me up.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
