Is Lionheart a Diablo clone?

Post by Saint_Proverbius »

[ -> N/A]

There's another nifty thread where Cabal, the nice writer guy from Reflexive, is asked bluntly, is Lionheart a diablo clone? Here's the reply:

Did you catch the blurb about the deep storyline?

We've been pretty open that the game has combat and action, but I've also gone to lengths to explain that we're adding in many quests, factions, historical story elements and interesting characters and other features to balance the combat.

I'm going to continue to try to impress that the game is not a Fallout sequel and it's not a Diablo clone. We're endeavoring to make a new and unique game with the Special system called Lionheart.

There you have it. You can read the full thing <a href="http://feedback.blackisle.com/forums/sh ...

On a side note, it's funny how the Infinity Engine fanboys used to bitch fans of Fallout out for wanting BIS to make more games like Fallout, but now that BIS has one game in production that isn't like the BG/IWD/etc. ilk, they all want it to be like the Infinity Engine games. That's just funny.

Anyone want to lay odds on BIS caving under pressure and making Lionheart more like the Infinity Engine before it ships?

My single trip to the Lionheart forum.

Remember a long list of topics, AND they seemed to be discussing ADDING stuff.

8 months in developement and what 7 or 8 to go?

Isn't it a bit late?

I had enough fun with BG DA, for what it was. It is rentable! It was fun to play with kids, after being whooped at Madden Football. (Madden Football works right out of the box on the PS-2, it didn't work on my PC's,
need P-4[?], sweet....)

The long streaming pissing match with I'play and BIS, has worn out the "care" part of my left hemisphere, or is it on the right? I can't find it right now, so I can't tell you.

"Care" to know when I find it?

What I think is even more hypocritical is that half of these fanboys criticise us for wanting Fallout to be like Fallout instead of Baldur's Gate.

Only a real artist knows the actual anatomy of the terrible, or the physiology of fear - the exact sort of lines and proportions that connect up with latent instincts or heriditary memories of fright, and the proper colour contrasts and lighting effects to stir the dormant sense of strangeness.

Agreed. Things like this are why I don't care much for the IE/BIS fan boys.
