Duck and Cover

Well heres my problem i have just purchased a new flat screen and a new computer with xp, but i cant get fallout sound to work cos it asks for a sound card but i got speakers.

And fallout 2 when u play it stuffs up with the picture (it has patchs of white and colours where they should'ent be). If any one out there can help a fellow man play the great game. I would be very greatful.

Try installing the Windows 95 version of Fallout instead of the DOS one, and it won't ask for a soundcard.

Both versions are on the same CD.

k i found that windows 95 installation but i got a flat screen monator and it like stuff's up with the graphics

Right click on Fallout's exe file and select properties. Under the compatability settings, check 256 color mode, 640x480 resolution and run in Windows 95 compatability.

If it doesn't do the trick, then you're out of luck as far as I know. Maybe check some of the other threads on the topic if it doesn't work.

um... I gave you the stock answer for the Fallout 1 on Windows XP problem.

There's probably a couple dozen threads on here where the question was asked and answered. I've never had the problem, but I've read about it enough to know the solution.
