Move to new server

Just a quick heads-up; we'll be moving to a new server in the next few days. The transition should be more or less seamless with little downtime. When the time comes, I'll likely be closing the forums on this side, so that when you access the open forums again, it'll be on the new server.

Stay tuned for updates (and no, this will not be the new XenForo forums just yet).

I've scheduled the final sync for Wednesday 14, around 11 PM CEST. I'll need to shut everything down on the current server beforehand since the WHM/cPanel backend stuff is also getting synced, but there shouldn't be too much downtime. Hopefully.

So, we've been on the new server a couple of days now.

The other, bigger issue with converting DAC to XenForo remains, however. The second guy I hired to do it has bailed on us now. I don't know if this is some kind of DAC curse or what it is, but there you have it.

The third guy I contacted has quoted a significantly higher price due to the broken characters issue, which apparently is an issue requiring a lot of manual intervention and hence raises the price of the conversion far above the usual.

Also, he's very busy with other projects, so it'll be a few weeks before he can get on it. It's not like we have many options left at this point, so I said that we'll wait.

It's not just those forums, otherwise I would just nuke them. It's also affected any foreign characters throughout the other forums. I'll tell him to just delete the Polish forums if it's going to make it easier to transition the rest, though.

all this talk about the influence of "foreign characters" on these forums sounds like digital eugenics. Well as long as it makes the "transition" easier, Heil!

Near cranium=The Brain, so I would consider the cranium an useful site indeed. I don't think it would be too far-fetched to draw parallels between God and the cosmic consciousness at this point; universal sea, sex and sun. swipe left if you agree.
