2012 - the end is nigh
<strong>[ Film & TV -> Preview ]</strong> - More info on <a href="#2012">Film & TV: 2012</a>
<p>A movie <strong>trailer
</strong>from the upcoming apocalyptic film <strong><em>2012</em></strong> has been recently released. It's directed by <strong>Roland Emmerich</strong> (The Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day, The Patriot) and the cast includes John Cusack, Thandie Newton, Woody Harrelson and Danny Glover.</p><p>
</p><p>Plot: "With the Mayan calendar ending in 2012, a large group of
people must deal with natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions,
typhoons and glaciers." (<a target="_blank" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190080/">IMDb</a>)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The trailer can be found <strong><a target="_blank" href="http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony/2012 ... a></strong>. </p><p> </p><p>Why, isn't this <em>epic</em>. Emmerich's portfolio is not exactly trust inspiring, but this big-budget flick is apocalyptic so I'll keep an eye on it.

I like how in 10,000 B.C. the darkies have to wait for the magical white people to lead them to victory.Kashluk wrote:Emmerich was behind 10 000 BC as well. Sort of a fun alternative(?) history setting. His movies are rather enjoyable and well made with their big budgets. Nothing special, far from :kubrick: but entertaining still.

10,000 was pretty horrible and I even gave it a bad review when it came out.Kashluk wrote:Emmerich was behind 10 000 BC as well. Sort of a fun alternative(?) history setting. Despite that he made Independence Day which I thought was good even though it wasn't high class stuff. I would also vote for that president in a heart beat.
I would normally write this off as being dumb but it has John Cusack in it so I guess it can't be that bad.

I don't feel like reading this - is it really an UBER-spoiler or a hoax? Also they've got a picture from a different flickPope Viper wrote:http://www.latinoreview.com/news/story- ... -2012-4921

I actually have a friend who believes that the world ends in 2012. And I made a wager with him, too: If the world faces unquestionable annihalation anywhere from January 1st, 2012 to December 31st, 2012, he wins. If it doesn't, I win.
100 bucks.
If I'm right, I get 100 bucks for no apparent reason.
If he's right... what the fuck would you use 100 bucks for?
