Find the cure...

Post by Dogmeatlives »

Sometimes when I am standing, the world will tilt and if I'm moving have to tilt to keep my balance. When standing still I can sense when it is coming and prepare myself so that I don't start wobbling and look drunk. I do not drink or take any medication that would cause this.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be? My paranoid side is whispering that it's a brain tumor slowly eating away at my gray matter. I dare not see a doctor as I am certain that I will either have a brain tumor or a camera will have to be shoved up my urethra for some reason. Me no likes doctors.

EDIT: oh, forgot to give your mission. Angels, please give some possible causes for this and heal me through the power of the internet... and remember Angels, this is serious business....

Go see a doctor, if you feel like it, fool. Otherwise learn to live with it. There's two options, it's a 50-50, win-loose-situation. Yay.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

I'll just live with it. It's like a surprise little Earth-spin in my day. But if anyone has experienced similar random shit, please share.

On the brighter side, if it is a brain tumour and you persist in untreatment, you'll have a compelling excuse for a slew of behavioural quirks. Few will have the ability to know, or heart to attempt to segregate the real from the merely convenient.

Vertigo, a specific type of dizziness, is a major symptom of a balance disorder. It is the sensation of spinning or swaying while the body is stationary with respect to the earth or surroundings. There are two types of vertigo: subjective and objective. A person experiencing subjective vertigo feels a false sensation of movement. When a person experiences objective vertigo, the surroundings will appear to move past his or her field of vision.

The effects of vertigo may be slight. It can cause nausea and vomiting or, if severe, may give rise to difficulty with standing and walking.

When I lie in bed I can feel myself spinning a lot, but it's fun so that's okay.

Also, try eating some diphenhydramine, 100mg upwards will give you a nice trip, too

nobody is going to have to shove anything up your anything. A guy at work - his wife has the same problem. Like someone else said, probably just an inner ear problem. She takes some cheap ass medication and she's fine unless she's listening to really loud sounds (like a concert or something)

I used to get this as a kid too but I think I was more in a dreamstate. It would feel like my bed would going like a sea saw. Some of my worst childhood dreams were like vertigo.

no you're not. I remember a thread where you dissed on believingin Jesus. I'll find it if I have to, and I know that Mormons CAN take medicine. You're thinking of Jehovah's Witnesses. Don't lie anymore.

My cousin's got a problem with his balance that gives him intense vertigo any time that he is not laying down with his eyes closed. They don't know what causes it, or what to do about it, but he learns to live with it. Sometimes it'll get bad again though and he's got to lay down.

It's all in the inner ear man, you've got some sort of equilibrium problem.

Jehovah's Witnesses can take medication, they just don't believe in holidays and cake and shit like that.

You're thinking of Christian Scientists who believe reading the Bible and praying will cure anything.

Baptists do it too. One of my dad's friends ran an autoparts store, but he would get these like like mini seizure things or something. One day we were there and he got one and this goofy ass Baptist was like, "would you like us to pray for you?" I admire his convictions and all, but it just sounded really stupid.
