<p>This is probably the best news we've heard in a long time. My confidence in<a target="_self" href="http://www.bethsoft.com"> Bethesda</a> keeps growing and growing. Now how about some concept art<img width="15" height="15" border="0" src="../../forums/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif" />? </p>

As I understand it Bethsoft like to talk about their games when they've got something to show. FO3 was a forced announcement due to interplay.
I have no doubt the game will be different from the ES series. But until I see the turn based combat (I suspect it'll be a new system that Bethsoft make up, though... not real time but possibly not classic TB either), I'm suspicious, and I think Bethsoft are fine with that since it's an understandable reaction.

Shoot, we didn't even mention we were working on Oblivion until we'd been working on it for nearly 2 and a half years. We just prefer to wait until we have something substantial to talk about, partially because we don't want to make promises we can't keep, and partially because if you extend hype over too long a period of time folks tend to get tired of waiting.Haris wrote:Why on earth are you keeping it so secret and stuff. Isnt it better to create huge fuzz about it like HL2 or WOW did for like 5 years or something before it was relleased.
Besides, HL2 was completely unknown until 18 months before its launch -- and it was ORIGINALLY supposed to be launched a mere 5 or 6 months after they announced it at E3 2 years ago.

That's good news indeed. I've always had confidence in Bethesda. After playing through Morrowind, I realized how much they do care about gameplay, story, and crafting a detailed world. I had/have no doubts they'll take the same care and consideration working with someone else's universe than they do their own.

No, it'll be Morrowind without guns! Yes! Venture into the wasteland with just a ping pong bat and ball as you lay waste to hoardes of Super Mutant Warriors! First person to kill 21 Mutants wins!Mister Meister wrote:It won't be "Morrowind with guns". It won't even be "Oblivion with guns".
We've heard what it won't be. We're waiting until they tell us what it will be.
On that other matter, it looks like a bird to me?
yarr, I do have a lass y'know. So I'm afraid your diagnosis is inadequate and feebly inaccurate.Pope_Viper wrote:Dude, it's time you went out and got laid, it's obviously been way too long if you can't remember what a vag looks like.Mismatch wrote:I look and look at that avatar of yours pawp viper, and all I see is a vagina.
comment on teh news:
yay
And, I still see a vagina.
Not a wanting, dripping one, mind you.
But a severly raped and battered one.
Edit:
on a sidenote I noticed the name... Steve Meister.
I bet the lastname is a taken name, no room for modesty there
