Got some problems with UK Version...

Post by lugerman »

Okay, so i accidently started the game on an unpatched version (seem's i had it installed twice)

Now, my game crashes whenever that bit where you see those two people, man and woman, get chewed to bits by the guys in power armor (i forget there names, it's been a long time since i last played this)

So i patch the game, and then i remmebered the saves wont work now.
So i get the converter from DNC, but it dosent work, it says its 1.01 saves, and dosent know how to handle them.

Is there a converter to fix this?
Or could someone write one?

Having to get back to where i am, in the same way i have, is not a plesant idea.

I fear it's the only way. Unless... Copy the save game data you have to a 'secure' location (maybe a floppy diskette or another folder on your harddrive?), uninstall Fallout and reinstall it. After this, just paste the save game data back where it belongs. Try now. This should clear it out if installing it twice is the problem.

So don't! That's half the fun of Fallout: every time a new character, every time more fun.

Starting off Fallout 1 was amazingly simple compared to Fallout 2 and it's tedious temple.

That's the first time anyone has ever said "I need an old computer, mine's too fast".

...t'was a joke.

In any case... it's not unusual to want a computer with an older OS to play old games.

Download DOSBOX and you won't want the infernal 3.1 ever again...

Run "Turbo" a useful windows program that slows down the CPU speed to a user-defined level. This way, you can "cheat" and run some DOS programs on windows(95/98. Don't know about XP/ME/NT).

No kidding. 3.1 basically just added a cumbersome UI to the simple commands. Though back in the day I thought it was awesome.
