Someone was trying to convince me to read this. Anyone knows anything about it?

The same guy liked Salvatore so I'm kind of unsure.

I read A Game of Thrones a couple years ago. I disliked it because all it was was retarded political intrigue, crappy sex scenes and possibly one fight scene throughout the entire novel. I found the characters just not likeable as well.

I've had multiple people tell me they were really good though... but they also said Dune was good.

The guy is telling me the first is the worst. I guess I'll try it.

The guy's name is George R. R. Martin, not Smith. Anyway, I've heard good things about this guy... namely that the writing quality is very good. I picked up "A Game of Thrones" a couple weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to read it yet. I'll let you guys know how it is once I do.

I guess I was thinking about Anna Nicole Smith at the same time.

My roommate's read all the books in the series so far and wants me to read them, too. I don't want to, but he read and critiqued the book I wrote, so I kind of owe it to him.
