Another Question: Regarding Patches and implementation

I recently patched my game of Fallout, because I've heard that the 500 day limit for saving my Vault from mutants was removed.

I started my game without the patch, then patched during the game...
Basically I want to know whether or not i should buy water from the merchants. (I really want the exp, and i have the cash.)

It doesn't look like the ReadMe says anything about it, but i'll check again.

I think i found it.

This patch will not invalidate your saved games, however any saved
game which has already been corrupted will not be fixed by installing
this patch. For example, if you have a saved game which contains the
duplicate-NPC bug, loading that saved game after installing this patch
will not remove the duplicate NPC's from your party.

I guess that means that i have 500 days after i deliver the water chip.
Please prove me wrong if you can.

wrong. only *bugs* won't be changed... like raising statistics by being severely radiated or that npc bug. 500 day time limit is a script - probably one of the scripts/*.int which got replaced when using the patch - then the limit is gone, doesn't matter if you patched after starting the game. however, i may be wrong... unfortunately

The 500-day limit is removed. As for the mutant-attack on your vault, I believe it stays... But you should easily be able to beat the game within that time-limit!
