Getting Wasteland to work on PC

ive been meaning to play wasteland ever since i knew it existed, but i never got around to it till now. and then it doesnt work on my pc. the same version i have works for a friend, so its got to be something to do with my computer. any helpfull ideas?

it has to run out of a folder labled "wasteland"
i had it labled "wasteland mother bitch!"

...

Why would you name it that, and why would it not work without being named Wasteland? I've got a couple copies floating around this computer and they've each got different names.

Exactly. In any case, I'm not sure why it wouldnt work when it was named that. I downloaded it from somewhere, and just unziped it and named the folder. Maybe its programmed to look for files in a "wasteland" directory.

It isn't just the folder name- I've had directories named many things (And I just tried it with "wasteland mother bitch!" as the directory name), and it has always worked fine.. Ir doesn't really matter since you've gotten it working, but what OS are you using?

I'll answer for him since hes gone for a while. He runs WinXP.

Try using DOSbox or VDMsound.

Nah both he and I got it to work in XP. I dunno what happened with him, but I got it to workt he first time. He may have had a messed up install and it skipped a file? Hell if I know.

I dont really know what was up with it. In any case, it runs just fine on XP, and has for anyone I know.
