Lovely Craziness

Post by Phias »

I recall a time, far back in the filmy mists of 1999 when I began to start a new game of Fallout 2 and I thought about being a crazy bastard. I'd have a character that chose all of the strange dialogues and did things for no reasons. Strange things.

I was gravely disappointed, as most of the Crazy dialogues go the same way as normal ones, and most people didn't have crazy dialogues at all. So the next best thing was to do fun things like see how many people I could blow up with plastic explosives and such.

What are the crazy and out-of-the-ord things you've done over the course of your games?

Once I lured every person in San Fran over to the boxing ring and murdered them. The pile of bodies was huge.

Does playing the game in the order the developers intended count as crazy?

I have this odd tendancy to play the whole game through with the leather armor. Not so much of an oddity as it is a quirk.

Once I played through with a Davide-style character (same stats, different name). It was fun and stuff.

I haven't really had any crazy experiences that weren't the result of bugs, though.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Percy Crump in Gecko will sell you stuff for less than he will pay you for it, so you can cheat him out of his entire stock. Guilty feelings prevent me from doing this very often. Does that count as crazy?

The guilty part... yes, otherwise a strict no.

I like trying to keep my karma on "wander" the entire game, like doing something good, but then doing bad things to counteract it, so it just stays wanderer. Also, in the den, I took a bunch of jet, and went and had sex with that whore in the hole, then became a slaver and killed the slavers that went on a run with me.

With intelligence 1, while on jet, the dialogues crack me up.

Does the dialogue change when you're on drugs?

You mad... max.
It's kinda cool. Makes leveling up worth the effort ;) You won't survive long without that 400 hp.

I was going to post about playing it using only the .233 pistol, but now I feel inferior... :(

.233 was one of the best guns in both fallouts. I still use it heavily till the end. Criticals to the eyes still do a bit of damage even against APA.

I liked the fact that in Fallout, a critical to the eyes from the .233 would kill a Nightkin, and they were really a problem to me for a while. In Fallout 2, I like it because it's an elegant little pistol with a lot of firepower. And it looks good with the purple robes.

I got an erection when I thought of Mrs Bishop in that golden gecko dress. Good enough?

Overall, I really don't do anything that out-landish. I really should experiment some more with the Fallouts..

Did Mad Max have a crowbar? I believed he had a knife in Road Warrior and he basically no weapons throughout Thunderdome.

Of course, being me, I haven't seen Mad Max I.
