Eh....a...thing? I don't know what it is.

Got great hand-eye coordination? Here's the place to show it off. You can also upload your work (images, audio, and video) and view our fan art gallery (currently defunct, bug forum management to fix it).
This is also the forum for all of you blossoming Camus' to exercise your brain power by writing and posting fan fiction.

Ok now that's hardcore. Not a style I'd usually appreciate, but the detail makes it worthwile to look at. Thumbs up all over the place.

That thing is awesome. Always been a fan of well-detailed crazy stuff that has surrealistic setting not a surrealistic look.

What.
There is no setting there, it's white space.
How exactly do you see that as having a surrealistic setting as opposed to look?

The modern days surrealiss LOOK -> three black lines/rectangles/weird shapes on a white paper. Costs > 10 000 €

Modern days surrealist SETTING -> very well done, but when you think about it, it makes no sense. Costs < 10 €

That's not surrealism, that's abstract. There's a big difference, abstract does suck.

That's modern surrealism. Wait, all surrealism is modern. So wtf?
You're confusing abstract, which is bs.

Abstract :

Surreal :

Surreal > Shit > Abstract

And I'm pissed that other site 404'd, that was an amazing site - had tonnes of Beksinski's paintings, and huge, high res copies too. Good thing I've got them all saved already :D Win.

Yes I thought so, that's why I made it my avatar. These are drawn by Tamara de Lempicka, a Polish/American from the late 19th / early 20th century. When I was at the Philidelphia Museum of Fine Art, I was browsing the gift shop and found this really cool art deco book, and I was THIS CLOSE to buying it, but I decided not to. I really wish I had though.

It's pretty cool, the second one is almost surreal. Sorta a cross between abstract and surreal, no? I donno. I still prefer the realism of surrealism. Deco seems refreshing though, not something I've ever stopped to appreciate before.

ok dingo eat some shrooms and draw more k?

commission megatron to colour your work or something, colour would take it to another level

i don't know enough about art deco so i'll stick to my baseless and ignorant conclusion that :

surrealism > art deco

but those 3 pics remind me of cubism more than anything
