Fallout Wiki on Wikia changes name

Post by King of Creation »

<strong>[ Community -> Update ]</strong>

<p>After the recent split of The Vault from Wikia to Falloutwiki.com, the remaining wiki on Wikia has changed its name to Nukapedia.</p>
<blockquote>
<p><em>To mark the start of both a new year and a new era for the Wiki, the community maintaining the wiki at fallout.wikia.com proudly announces the official change of the sites name to NukaPedia: The Fallout Wiki, and welcome all visitors and potential editors to the site.

The site remains strong - celebrating its 15 000th page just days ago. This is despite a recent community split which saw the Vault and some notable regular users move to a new wiki. Despite the split, relations between the two communities remain strong with many users contributing to both sites, and content sharing deals between the sites under negotiation. </em> <em>

The Wiki has also played an invaluable role in keeping the Fallout fan community informed on the Bethesda v Interplay case through access to court documents provided to it by friends of the wiki. </em> <em>

The new name, created and selected by the sites community reflects the Wikis continued commitment to the Fallout series, and it's determination to continue on much like Humanity in the games themselves. </em> <em>

Newly Elected Bureaucrat Kingclyde has was quoted as saying "This vote signals a bright future for both Nukapedia, and the entire Fallout community, and stands as a shining beacon of democracy in the otherwise bleak wasteland"</em></p>

As long as they recognize who gave birth to them. I didn't see a THANKS DACK in that. I am disappointed. Also, what the fuck, NukaPedia, really? Was the vote up to Fallout3 fans or were the other options just that shit?

I hated it to start, but its grown on me.
We haven't forgotten the Vault... and never will.

The vote was open to anyone who chose to vote... But we've got some killer logo ideas submitted.

Well, The Vault didn't really give birth to Nukapedia. The Vault and Nukapedia were like conjoined twins that DAC gave birth to.

What's Ausir's reaction to all this? Wasn't it his baby?

I think Ausir is unhappy that Wikia is still alive.

I am too. It kept the URL so it'll be getting the most traffic.

Ausir was also just global-banned from all Wikia sites. So I guess he's probably pretty pissed off.

And not a single goddamn comment in the section below had anything to do with the actual article. Just assholes masturbating over where the next Fallout will be.

Consider it a 'trial run', or even a 'proof of concept'. TIA

By not observing the blackout, you have found a new and novel way in which to disappoint me, Kotaku. :drunk:

I would have done the blackout here, but I didn't really know how. So I participated by not using the internet at all for the whole day.
