Whats better? Falout or Fallout 2?

Fallout, better story and the original is usually the best in a series.

Fallout was nice, not too long or short, not so bleedin' hard, and (PHEW) much less bloody random encounters. I HATE, HATE, HATE random encounters. Hopefully they will remove random encounters from number 3 (if it ever happens).
btw- will have to download Wasteland - it sounds like the daddy!

The only 2 gripes I have with FO1 is the sucky unarmed combat and the lack of follower control.

In many ways FO2 was better than it's predecessor. (Bigger, nifty details, more sidequest, no time-limit, a(in my opinion) less linear storyline)
Both games had bugs and broken quests... Just different ones...
Still... I had to vote FO1. Primarly because of that abandoned, desolated, stribing-to-survive feel... The moody music... Ahh... 8) Now, where did I put that FO-cd...?

special encounters are good

Actually, the random encounters were nice. That sort of thing makes you think ahead. You can't just wander 100 miles into the desert, kill a bunch of raiders, and then go "Ahhhh.. It's rotgut time!" while you stroll back to the vault to heal your ouchies.

Fallout 2 if you don't really mind the bugs all that much. I just wish I could make it so the traders could always have more money on them. Like the money regen in Fallout 1 man did I amke money then.

Hey is there any way to make traders in FO2 get more money on them?

I think FO2 is better. I just hate to pick all darn items manually in looting in FO, but in FO2 there is the TAKE ALL. If I could have a nice FO:T like inventory on FO2 and some other absolutely incredible ideas, then I wouldn't play any other game than FO2.

But of course the original FO has it's own glory. I played the FO2 first, so the FO seemed a bit short... But I liked the Brotherhood more in FO than on FO2 and as for Tactics....you are one of them!

Fallout 1

Although it was short (I finished it in about 3 days on my first game) it had an AWSEOME vibe and possess that FEEL that Fallout 2 lacks.

Fallout easily. Fallout 2 may have had quantity over Fallout, but not quality.

Fallout seemed to know what it was. Fallout 2 didn't.

Fallout. It had the best story, the best ideas, etc. GTrue, Fallout 2 was good, but it deviated too much to be a true rival... the only real advantage it has is the NPC-and looting systems being tweeked.

FO had better story line...
FO2 had much needed improvements and more quests, more importantly more guns....... *eyes glaze over as he starts to drool*

FO2 is also better because i once beat FO in just under 6 hours...
not enough quests/jobs....!!!
