Captain America

Captain America is based off the comic book and I think there was a few real life adaptations of it but they are irrelevant because they didn't do well I guess. Either way Captain America (played by Chris Evans) is about a skinny kid who wants to fight in the army but can't get in because he is so weak. A special science force recruits him and does some special sciences stuff to make him big, strong, and sexy like me.

So basically he becomes a super soldier to help kill nazi's and a bad nazi dude played by Hugo Weaving (guy who has no skin and a red head).

With the recent comic book movies like Green Lantern and then this I thought this looked like the worse movie but it wasn't, it was actually fairly well done. The movie has a complete story and doesn't cut anything short, you see captain rise from the bottom to the top which isn't done that often anymore and when it is done you run into the problem that the movie gets a lot of boring parts because the development scenes are done that well.

The movie has some decent action, an interesting lead character (unlike thor bore), and it has a hot leading lady (she is very busty, this is important).

The movie has some nit picks in places but overall I think the worst one is the ending. It basically sacrifices any plausible chances of Captain America getting a sequel in favor of promoting the Avengers movie.

edit: I just learned that the ending is normal for Captain America I guess.

Well they've been trying to get an Avengers movie out for, I dunno, six years worth of comic book movies hinting at it. By the time it finally comes out I'm going to rage through the theater line just to burn the footage.

The whole chapter of the movie where Captain America is a publicity goon is fucking gold.

I concur, if just for the musical bit.

In a felt version of his classic comic one, yeah. Absolutely fucking awesome. I didn't anticipate the movie being anywhere near as good as it turned out to be.

Never really investigated Red Skull's background, so I have no idea how relevant the Asguard-Thor reference was near the end, or the fact that they were part of the same serum program. I do know that Bucky falling off that train is gonna lead to him becoming the Winter Soldier, soviet cyborg agent or something, and that Nick Fury should explode into a white guy with a buzz cut. Did anybody say anything about rebooting the Fantastic Four, or are they just gonna get swept under the rug?

the same serum program.
Random: It was also in the last Hulk movie. Tim Roth's character gets it.

I totally didn't understand that reference. What was it?

The part when he gets the super soldier serum, they walk into the room that's covered in white sheets and everything looks like its all from the 1940's. They grab the needle and the serum and inject Tim Roth's character with it which turns him into the super soldier.

That was the same thing they injected Captain America with, mang.

No, no, I misread. I meant the reference at the end of Thor's credits. I know that Abomination came from a failed attempt to recreate the serum that made Cap's success as a super soldier.

Don't see Thor its a rather pathetic excuse and attempt.

I actually thought that, given the source material, Thor was pretty good. Not great, but when you're working off of a repeat model of...
1 Loki fucks shit up
2 Thor gets blamed/angry
3 Thor fixes shit and learns something in the process
4 Loki is off to plot another fiendish scheme
... it's difficult to produce anything watchable, and they pulled it off. Also, seeing Mumbles from RocknRolla as epic gold sword man was mildly satisfying.

also I watched this last night. I liked the first half and as a superhero film it was pretty good. It's a little hard to judge it on it's merits as a film when there it's based on a comic. But I liked it as much as Iron Man I think.
