Two more New Vegas Interviews

Post by Doc Hill »

[ Game -> Article ] - More info on Person: Avellone, Chris | More info on Person: Larry Liberty | More info on Company: Obsidian Entertainment | More info on Game: Fallout: New Vegas

One with Chris Avellone and another with Larry Liberty. In reverse order lets look at some points.

*Liberty cites that Reno might have had influence on new Vegas.

*If you win too much at a casino, they'll kick your ass to the curb.

*New weapon confirmation! Ballistic Fist, essentially a punch gun.

*You can throw spears. Seems kinda common sense to me, but yay?

For the entire interview with Liberty, head over to PC Gamer

And now for the bullet points from Avellone's interview. It's more focused on the Comic

*All Roads, the comic for New Vegas, takes place a week before the game.

*The comic's events will be traceable in the game. Meaning you can see the aftermath, and he indicates that by reading the comic you can find unique items in the game.

*He seems to really want to write more Fallout comics.yay?

The entire interview is up at Comic Book Resources.

An aside, with momentum building toward the release of New Vegas, I anticipate the flood gates opening as far as interviews and basic news. I'll be trying to combine them into single news posts where applicable, so the front page doesn't become a waterfall of news articles.

PC Gamer: In terms of story content, how much of Fallout: New Vegas comes from the axed Interplay Van Buren project?

Larry Liberty: There are some similar elements, certainly shared factions. It’s only natural that there be some inspiration, as Josh Sawyer, the Lead Designer on Fallout: New Vegas was the lead designer on Van Buren. The story and timeline are quite different, but there is one location common among them.
Axed being the keyword here. They do realize we've never played Van Buren right? Even when NV is out, we're not going to know where the shared location is unless one of these guys tells us. Way to ruin my life.

*sighs* Go to the Vault Wiki, they have all the info available on what would have been in Van Buren. Now you know. and Knowing is half the battle. The other half is getting off your lazy ass and reading.
Life is like cheap whiskey, it's mostly bad, and leaves a shitty taste in your mouth, but it's better then nothing.

If there was some way to get the comic outside of getting that huge pre-order package I would buy it in a heartbeat.
