[ Literature -> Interview ]

Polish website Polygamia has an interview with the guy who wrote the book that the game Metro 2033 is based on. The author, Dmitry Glukhovsky, discusses how Fallout influenced the book, but not the game.

Speaking of books, definitely Roadside Picnic. Speaking of games , I'm 30 now and have been playing games for more than a half of my life. I started playing when I was back in school, the first Fallout was released when I was 14, so I played it in 9th, 10th and 11th grade of my school, and then first and second year of my university. It was then when I conceived and started writing the book. And definitely it was an influence. I didn't play the third Fallout (although I intend to). Although I was inspired by Fallout, the game developers were not. They have their own, distinct vision of post-apocalypse.
[Actually, looks like Dmitry made a mistake here - in reality Fallout was released 4 years later - translator's note]
