First gen megatexturing was used there. Rage and Doom 4 will use the next iteration, which I guess is now being called Virtual Texturing.

I should think it would, the rendering style of the engine suggests that it shouldn't even be on par with Crysis yet, or at least to me. So if your PC can run games like Crysis (doesn't matter what settings), or even Fallout 3 for god's sake, I'm pretty damn sure it'll run Rage.

With how they described mega pixels or whatever is that most computers would be able to run it well cause it would be like running 1 pixel right? I know it's probably not true but form how they explained it, it sounded pretty cool.

Quake Wars used the mega pixel system, if this is improved then this game will have huge draw distances with no performance loss.

So, apart from the graphics pushing for "next genz" with what seems to be success, what do we know about the game itself? :chew:

Unlike the engine running Doom 3, it seems this can render light.

Its inspired by Mad Max 2 and Burnout... So there will be races across the wastes where you can engage in vehicular combat. If you win you earn cash and can then upgrade your vehicle. There will also be lots of on-foot shooting, and since its id it probably won't try to re-invent anything and be pretty old fashioned.
