Shihonage dropped by and let me know about his Tactics-based RPG called Shelter. Check it out:

It relies on graphics assets from Fallout: Tactics, in a manner similar
to Russian FONLINE project's reliance on assets from Fallout2.

From the trailer it looks playable; strange choice of music in fragments tho. :stand back giant rat!:

Trading through dialogue? I dunno, never liked the graphical "feel" of tactics that much, maybe it's because all the character models somehow look like vic from fallout2. On that note, why didn't they ever get the same sprite designers from fallout 1 for fallout2? The new ones for FO2 looked so chunky and ungainly.

Agreed. They looked like they were designed for a higher resolution.

It looks promising, but it still has quite an unfinished look into it... The dialogue is quite silly, to be honest. But if they actually came up with a good story, it could be fun.
