RPG Vault Interviews Inon Zur

Post by POOPERSCOOPER »

<strong>[ Game -> Interview ]</strong>

<p>He is the guy who does the music and stole the job from Mark Morgan. </p><blockquote><p><em> <strong>"Jonric: What were the major considerations that factored into your being selected to create the score for Fallout 3?

Inon Zur:</strong> I think it was the combination of music styles
that I have created, especially the ambient music, which is almost like
sound design, but is also mixed with orchestral elements. They thought
it would really capture the attention of the fans because they were
looking to give the score a different angle from the music that was in
the previous Fallout games. And this is why they went for my style -
because I could give them the ambience and the weird decadence plus an
almost low-fi sound, but also bring up some more dramatic, orchestral
elements with it when needed."</em></p></blockquote><p><a target="_self" href="http://rpgvault.ign.com/articles/921/92 ... html">Read the rest of the interview here.

I love the original soundtracks. They're on my winamp playlist, even.

More dramatic, orchestral! MORE!

Mark Morgan should go over to Inon Zur's house and kneecap him with a baseball bat.

I really have no idea what Bethesda was thinking in not trying to replicate the original music. Their taste just sucks. "At Bethesda we turn the awesome into generic, and make it more approachable for idiots!"

They should have hired Ennio Morricone to do the soundtrack, obviously.

Does this even make sense? Who would mix dark ambient music with cheesy action movie orchestral scores?

Hmm. Did the Fallout Tactics soundtrack have any epic orchestral tracks?

Too much violin, not enough environment.

Also, this guys name sounds more like a metallic element than a person.
