Should I get Oblivion?
Should I get it so that I can play it and find some redeeming qualities that will give me a better hope of fo3? How many of you played it and liked it?

In any case it'll make you hate the idea of Fallout 3 even more.
Oblivion is a gimmick game, fun maybe the first time you go through, but very average fun, and you get more annoyed by all the things that are annoying or bad...
I don't know how much patches have fixed, but it was a severely long way from being any kind of good enough.

It was a rather OK'ish game, seems awfully huge and non-linear at first, but then you'll get buttfucked by the horrible level scaling system (= on level 2 the cave X is filled with bandits wearing briefs and wielding wooden clubs, on level 60 the very same cave X is filled with twice the amount of bandits with the best equipment available in the game - but they're still guarding that sheep they stole from the poor farmer yesterday ).
And then you'll notice that the so called world of freedom isn't that free after all. It's incredible how much limitations you can add to non-linearity and pretty much screw it all up. It's a time killer for sure, but there's nothing to really "get into", so to speak.

Alright, thanks for the input guys. I probably won't pick it up as I'm starting to see that Oblivion hasn't aged well with time with you guys.
Also, don't hate on my movie watching skills. I take a lot of time out of my life to give you guys the top quality review you expect from me.
