Kind of a dumbfuck move, we're in debt, what, $3 trillion for this Iraq bullshit, our economy is circling the drain, gas is practically $4 a gallon.
It's a desperate bid to stimulate the economy, it's like they finally learned that when they fuck us over too bad, we can't afford to subsidize the upper 1%'s lavish lifestyle.
What the fuck though, I'm not turning $1300 down. |

Basically, our economy is relatively in the shitter right now, so the eggheads at the Financial helm say that if they give us some money back from our taxes, we'll spend it like a kid in a candy store and give the economy a shot in the arm. If you're single, you get about 600-800 USD, married about 1200 USD, and for each kid you get about 300 USD extra.

Matter of opinion, but I'm not one to argue politics.
I will say this though - I don't see what a lot of the big deal is - we pay too damn much in taxes anyway, and so we're supposed to nut because we're so happy that they gave us some of our hard-earned money back? WTF? Work Harder: Millions on Welfare Depend on You! Eff that. |

Actually, that was just the easy to explain part.
You had naval impressment, admiralty courts, a lot of business interests that stood to acquire better standings, and many other things.
I really hate how a simple story for 5 year olds is also used as cultural signaling by/for adults.

Quite a few American microbrews are pretty good. Sure, they don't measure up to some of the German stuff I've had before, but Germans have been brewing good stuff centuries before the United States even existed. I mean the only thing they're better at than brewing is baking. |
