"mean-spirited, mischievous jerks who enjoy kicking over other people’s sandcastles. On the other hand, they really hate furries. Is the enemy of my enemy my friend?"

I really want to pick up the free trial of EVE.

Just so I can crash my starter ship (you get one, right?) into someone's expensive ship at high speed.

Then just keep restarting and doing that shit over and over until the free trial expires.

Then cancel.

We could have a DAC-horde mebbe?

Or keep giving starter ships to one person to sell then suiciding and starting over.
Repeatrepeatrepeat

Big pilez o cash.

Then ve make ze Horde!

There's a special place in my heart for EVE. It really is an amazing game, for all the flaws it's player base has brought into it.

I like complex games like EVE.

I remember how pretty Freelancer was.

And how superficial it was.

Does EVE actually address the complex issues that are needed to make an intelligent space game?

Like Freelancer plus Starflight plus MULE plus more?

If it does then I might actually give it a chance.

Otherwise ignore or fuck with it.

Try this, it's long but definately worth it. Awesome read:

My brother tried Eve for a bit, it seemed extremely slow based...

But another friend of mine is playing it right now and he's loving it. Eve is about as fun as you make it be yourself. Don't expect the game entertain you, but if you meet the right people you can have a shitload of fun.

so I suppose a kind of griefers are intentional team-killers in America's Army - irritating twits, make it impossible to play.

Anyhow, Redeye do you think crashing into other people's ships would be that much fun? :?

You can't crash into other people's ships.

If Redeye's idea about using cheap ships to blow up expensive ones worked, it would be fun.

It's art imitating life, though. :suicidebombers:

oh snap!

It would have been so cool.

Not having collisions is a Qrime.

I want to make a space station that looks like the Hamburglar.

swell guy-ass rennespeake:

""It was decided in turn that those individuals whose body and mind most exemplified the fundaments of Harmony would be elated to a special status among the Centaurus. The Atriachs they where called, chosen rulers six times six in number, and charged with the duty of leading the Centaurus civilization by virtue of their wisdom and courage. Thirty six men and women stood aligned beneath the heavens, each six appointed to a star. Together they formed The Circle of the Empyreal [COE]." "

I adore space art, but I'm tired of streamlined spacecraft that aren't also aircraft. Most spacecraft should probably be constructed in a way that resembles shipping containers, girders, and geoseisic spheres connected and perhaps covered over with a protective layer of ice.

Sure, antigrav could give atmospheric capability to a brick. It would have to be streamlined to keep it under control in atmosphere.
But really, c'mon.

A little goofy is ok, but this shit is whack.
(Not wiggety-whack, just regular kind.)

If there is a fucking canard, it had better be for something. (Like parallax sensor mounting).

There is another part of me that just wants the grandeoise drama of space opera. I'm thinking oil paintings of flying edwardian ocean liners that have been hybridized with BV-141s.

Griefing, in general, is useless, time consuming and annoying.

EVE is a slow game. Fun but you have to have huge amounts of patience.
Both for dealing with the game dynamics (however stupid I find them) and the general population of the game. It's definitely worth a shot, if you are a fan of the genre.

It was a lot better in beta when everyone was low level and weren't getting reamed by all the people with nothing to do in PVP space.

I like ganking low-level nubs in STV.

Actually that's not true, I like ganking their "uber geared" main characters, AFTER I kill their low-level nubs. When they come running for revenge, they still can't take me, and that's what makes it sweet.

Of course, I never start a battle. I conviniently justify going on a zone-killing spree even if they only make a /spit macro on me.

Ahhh.. nerdraging. iz fun.

I never got the point of that. Imo, being lvl 70 in STV is the biggest waste of time.
