Moral Decision

Post by POOPERSCOOPER »

We got a new dog about a month or two ago(its a white lab). It likes to play by biting like puppies do and sometimes I like to wrestle with him but my arms are getting all cut up and I don't know if it's a good thing for his training. My parents are all like "no bite" and stuff to him and doing all this training crap but when I see him I see a little puppy that wants to play, I don't want to be mean to him :( I look like one of those emo kids who like to gash all over their bodies. DAC, what should I do?

it's indeed bad for training, dogs are tools and if you don't educate him correctly and enforce and punish his behavior consistently the dog will become a very annoying dog later in life

Indeed, what Thor said. There is no room for guilt at the puppy stage - it's discipline all the way, that's how dogs are wired to learn. It's not mean, unless you're being rougher than you need to. A firm tap on the head or snout, along with a loud "no", repeated as necessary, will eventually get the message through that biting is wrong. If it doesn't, slap a bit harder and make him sit in the corner or put him in a doggy crate for a few minutes. Puppies are a bitch to train (no pun intended), but the work pays off.

show him, who`s da fucking man in da house, untill his head is looking to the floor and his eyes are almost crying, then you don`t give him food for a day, and then he say`s aight, that`s the fucking DON, i ain`t fucking with him no more, i`ll be a good samurai from now on and follow my master and protect him, even if it costs my dog life.

Kick him in the face a few times, then hug him while wiping the blood off him. He'll be loyal for life.

Raised my dog from a stray pup, he's a rotti and him and I wrestle quite a bit. But he only does it with me, he gets excited around people, because he's just naturally playful, but it's not like he doesn't obey commands.

Still, I did cop a nasty gash along my bicep this evening from him. The problem with mine isn't his bite, but rather his dew claw things.

I created this for some other reason, but kicking defiantly helps. Or use a cattle prod! :dinosaur: :animal cruelty: :drunk:

If he bites your arm again, put your hand around the upper jaw and press the flaps of him gums against his teeth - then it'll seem like you're biting him back, and because you're bigger and stronger than him, he'll know not to fuck with you. That worked with my old dog when he acted exactly the same way, and he's never bitten me since puppy stage after I did that to him a couple of times.

I totally understood what Megatron said, far more valuable than the information you posted.

A little bit of pain and discipline brings many more years of happiness and obedience in the future. At least, that's what my master told me all those years ago...

And don't let him put your paw on you without your command; it's a domination technique that can quickly signal that you're weaker than the dog. Dogs are happier when they know the chain of command, and you'd better make sure the dog knows it's at the bottom of that chain or there'll be trouble later on, not just with you but with the people around you. Train your dog well and you'll be able to play with it as much as you want later.

my dogs play rough, bit its ok cause i got tough skin, im not a soft skinned weeni like yous people,
and when i say, sit, they sit, right then no arguing,
they stay, fetch, guard, point, and fallow scents, their all mutts (the best kind of dog), and i have one caucasian mountain dog. they guard the house, they
dont touch or bother my friends, and that behave themselves.

i say, when the pup fucks up, bite it on the ears
, neck, or muzzle, not to hard, but its the only thing they understand, remember, they cant hit or slap or grasp, but they know what a mouth is, and what it can do.
