[ Game -> Preview ] - News related to Top Story: Fallout 3 Previews | More info on Game: Fallout 3
There are a ton of Fallout 3 previews out today (July 1), as I had predicted yesterday. When posting quotes from the previews, I've ignored most rehashed stuff. For the sake of organization, I have consolidated all of the previews
into this one central newspost, which I've made the "Top Story." I'll
update this post as more previews come in, so keep checking. Now read
on! I have added much higher resolution screenshots and concept art to DAC's gallery. Unfortunately, there are no new screenshots. Duck and Cover is reporting on the discovery of of two previously unknown locations in Fallout 3: Springvale and Ten Penny Tower!
In addition, I've put up a new poll on the main page that asks: Now that we've seen all these previews of Fallout 3, are you feeling better about the game? Also, be sure to check out our Fallout 3 FAQ! |

Aint really seen anything yet. Good stuff on the previews seems like they aint really flushing it down the toilet. I find the ideas of the minigames stupid, a waste of time. But yeah maybe this has improved my standing on the game. |

Wouldn't all the previews be pretty much the same but written by someone else? |

In good journalist habit, they all left a useless facet for different people to discuss. Gamelength of 40 hours, unkillable children, unkillable RPGs, toaster-weapons, VATS really just being RTwP, FP being the primary view. You name it, they'll suck it.
The press is diving into this even easier than I expected. Still, maybe the early attempts at hype'll mean that it breaks up at some point. |

Christ! Where did all of these news posts come from?I've never had to scroll down that far on the DAC main page unless I've been away for a year. |

I actually am a little heartened by some of the stuff I've read today. Isometric seems possible from what we've heard, for instance. |

If mutants and the Brotherhood aren't as rampant(as in both being very scarce) as they made them seem before, and they make the mutants look more like mutants, we're getting somewhere. |

It looks like the Brotherhood is only one platoon, which sounds good, but their main missions seems to be killing mutants, which sounds worse. |

The way that quote is phrased bothers me. |

I could deal with one small platoon, something like the size of those little outposts in Fallout 2. But yeah, them just killing the shit out of everything doesn't sound great.
Also they need to remove the nuke-a-pult. |

The conversations with Simms and Burke show off both the new AI system and the new focus on NPC interaction. An improved radiant AI system allows for even more behavior and dialogue options on the screen and your speech skill allows you to influence an NPC to do things that might not necessarily be in their best interests. For each dialogue option that makes use of the speech skill, you'll see a percentage chance of success. You'll want to take note of these numbers because if you fail, it's likely that you'll really irritate the person you're talking with.
|
This is funny as well. What does Radiant AI have to do with that? Wasn't this "innovative system" in Fallout 1 and 2 already? |
