Updated info on Teaser trailer

Post by King of Creation »

[ Game -> Update ]

Voodoo Extreme has a streaming feed of the trailer up, and they've also got some comments from Pete Hines:

1) Yes, that's in-engine (in-engine means it's done with game assets in
our rendering engine, but isn't done real-time. If it was done in
real-time, that'd be gameplay footage. This isn't something, for
example, that was sent to some house [e.g. Blue Studios] so they could
build assets and render it out, and create something for us to release
[e.g. Dawn of War 40K intro cinematic]).
2) Yes, that's The Ink Spots singing "I Don't Want to Set the World On Fire"
3) Yes, that's Ron Perlman [voiceover man extraordinaire of Fallout 1 and 2].

Damn right Ron Perlman.

The armor looks less disappointing than expected but the gun looks very :psychosniper:

RONNIE!!!! :aiee:

I liked it, but for all this...this really ain't much. I don't see anything bad in this one actually, but where's the rest of the trailer? :sadblinky:

The gun does look a bit odd. More like Arcanum. Other than that, me like.

You don't see him shooting... :D
And I can't see a clip in his rifle either.

Or maybe a gas-powered rifle. Gauss?

I like the home-construction design though.

To noone's surprise, the engine is filled with eye-candy... bathsoft is really counting on them kiddies to get the console version.

Of course, this is pre-rendered, but I would venture that anyone with a machine that is more than two years old is, most likely, going to have trouble running Fo3.

It is great that they managed to retain Ron as the narrator, though.

Also, should we have a counter that counts to Fall '08?

Indeed. There is small (gas?) pipe going over the top of the "barrel" that could be the fuel feed for a flamethrower... yet he does not seem to be wearing any fuel containers on his back?

I am in no way a weapons expert, however, the barrel of this gun would be too short to be a gauss rifle. There are several possibilities here, but a probable guess is that it is some sort of shotgun...

There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

More likley they made up a lot of 'kewel' gunz and other ph4t lewt.

Tho we know they have a sense of humor, as one of the items in morrowind (according to a easter egg I read on it once) was a lute (that guitar/banjo like thing) that was named 'fat lute'

actualy, 50s sci fi only affects some aspects of FO,while important, the setting and feel alone are the most important.
