Gauss gun for sniping, and the best energy rifle for close quarters (the one you can find in the BOS bunker in SanFran). |

For RP badassery I go for combo of sniper rifle/.223 pistol.
Keep an extra .223 pistol for close-in.
That way you can swap to full one and have 10 shots total before reloading.
Two .44 revolvers with fastloader is good, too. |

I take a gauss rifle and plasma rifle. Good long range/ low ap cost combo. Not to mention they kill almost anything. |

Amen. IIRC the .223 pistol got me through about half of the first game, and then it was sniper rifle the rest of the way through, except for the time I found the Alien Blaster. |

The .223 carried me through most of the game! Later on when i got my hands on some larger weaponary i found myself using the gatling laser quite a bit! has to be the best one in FO2
Even though Tictacs doesnt count, i have to admit i enjoyed the Browning M2 with depleted uranium shells! |

Super Mutant team members are a pain to keep alive, but with Fast Shot, Bonus Rate of Fire, Bracing (I think), 3 APs are removed from firing. And you can have an M2 in each hand. Throw in Quick Pockets and that is a very destructive Mutant.
With Ag10, or psycho/Action Boy you can get 3-4+ bursts/turn. |
