Not all Garands are collector items, most of the guns you buy through the Civilian Marksmanship Program aren't really wall hangers, they're shooters.

Furthermore M43 is coming back, and coming down. Whereas over the summer everyone was all out and the people that did have it wanted like $160 for a case it's now down to $120 to $130 and the ammo vendors at the gunshows have got it, stacks of it. Sure the days of sub-$100 M43 might be gone, but I wouldn't discount the SKS as a viable SHTF gun. In fact I’d take it over the Garand.

Also the reason Yugoslavian SKS’ seem to be overbuilt is because most of the Yugo guns are the version with the grenade launcher, so they wanted to make sure the rifle could withstand the stress of high powered blanks for the grenades.

HO HO, just got a minimalist CC holster for my Sig and a New 410 / 45 Long Colt barrel for my Contender. Also new wood for my Enfield. Quite the sweet birthday, I must say.

Also, about civilian marksmanship, family members and friends of the family have all been losing their goddamn minds with that shit and ordering garandes like mad. If you are willing to shell out some extra cash you are almost gauranteed a better rifle. All of the ones ordered that i've seen have been beautiful.

In the Colt .45 clones, which is the better - Kimber or Wilson?

I have fired a bunch of guns, .45, 9mm, and .38. Neighbors next door didn't hear shit. My ears are ringing. .45 is the best performer out of 3.5" barrel when it comes to expansion. 9mm penetrated almost 3 times further. Expansion was almost as good, but the kinetic impact was obviously not as awesome. .38 from 2.5" barrel was piece of shit that penetrated 30% less than .45, and barely expanded at all. I'm selling this gun the first chance I get.

What kind of ammo were you using? Gotta pick your ammunition accordingly.

What kind of .38 is it anyhow?

Kimber offers a .22 conversion kit for their .45 which automatically owns the shit out of any other clone in my opinion.

Unless of course the .22 conversion kit doesn't work or performs rather poorly. At which point it'd be a huge fucking disappointment.

Everyone has a .22 conversion kit for a 1911, it's really not that big a deal, especially considering for the price of one of those kits you could get a .22 and then have two guns instead of one.

Federal 110 grain Hydroshock, standard pressure. I'm not sure higher-pressure rounds would've improved situation considerably, besides this gun is not +P rated anyway.

Try with some heavier bullets.

Now, like I said, what kind of .38 is it?

Well how the fuck was I supposed to know that? Just for that I'm going to cram my fucking balls in your ass. UNG

Anyhow, it's a snub nose, they're not exactly famed for their ballistic performance, their purpose is to have a small highly concealable pistol in a effective caliber. I'm quite certain if you shot an attacker with it they would stop or slow down a lot at least.

It's meant to be used for "OH SHIT, swell guy WITH A KNIFE!" not "OH SHIT, GIANT ARMOR PLATED MUTANT NINJA ANTS WITH MACHINE GUNS!" Although I bet if you shot them in the eyes they'd die.

Still. I at least hoped the ammo would expand JUST A LITTLE FUCKING BIT.

That's why you want a heavier bullet. Those light ones are for longer barrels. Get a heavier bullet, it'll hit harder allowing it to open up easier. Not all ammo is created equal, you know.

Who are reliable manufacturers.

Someone mentioned Wolf is great for the Russian Ammo 7.62x39. is it good for 9mm, 45 ACP and .223, I was going to get myself some cans of extra ammo, just in case the zombies and angry white folk invade my neighborhood.

Just bought me a Sig P226 in .40 S&W. Got it all figured out interms of operating it but for some odd reason my PX has weird policies with selling you ammo. Apperently if you buy a firearm, you have to wait a day before purchasing ammo. The reason infered is great. Apperently when they sold a firearm to someone with ammo, he committed suicide infront of the hospital, so now they make you wait a day. The best reason I came up with is to allow you to think over your suicide for a day. I'll have more to report later this week when I fire it.

Why not bring in a gun and ammo for it that you already own?
Then you can argue that you could just kill yourself without their help.

Then you could JUSTIFY THEIR PARANOIA (and also scar them heinously, possibly for life) !

Or not.

'Tis fun to imagine, though. :drunk:

You rotten asshole, you beat me to it. P226 in .40 was next on my list.

Walthers are retarded expensive, also in alot of cases you can do better, that is why I got a sig variant of the PPK. I do love my P99 though.
