Is it me or does this seems to be an isolated, small post-apocalyptic world? The armed gangs fighting the last remnants of order, people looting everywhere, lots and lots of things lost and people dead. What's happening there is awfully awful, but it seems so much to me like the start of a post-apocalyptic thing...

Imagine if places like Bhopal, Chernobyl(difficult at the time...), 3 mile island, Rwanda, etc. attracted pilgrimages even while the events were still unfolding.
The next best thing to pro-active casualty vampires.
Wouldn't it be funny if a bunch of drunk, armed punks descended on the area to take pictures/video, and hand out poisoned food.
Maybe shoot people for fun. Like having a Human Vulture Vacation.

On one side, I think it's kind of shitty. I've got family living there, and one of my friends entire family lives right downtown. Needless to say they were somewhat intelligent about it and got the fuck out when the first "Evacuate Now or Die" was released.
On the other side it's just retarded.
On the news tonight they featured 2 white people trapped in New Orleans. They were Irish tourists with no car. Every other face (other than the broadcaster's) was black.
The most retarded things I've seen thus far:
1. Two black female cops looting shoes at Walmart.
2. A couple of black teenage boys looting boomboxes as they walked past the water bottles and foods.
3. A big black guy looting dried noodles. Ehrm...There's no clean water to cook noodles. And if he's wasting his drinking water cooking noodles, he should just be kicked in the face.
4. A fat black woman running out of a camera store with a bag full of expensive cameras. When asked about it by the reporter, she said "I need these to survive."
5. The rival gangs can't be peaceful for an evening when stuck inside a football stadium together.
6. The dipshits shooting each other over DVD players.
7. The people shooting at rescue helicopters.
Luckily for me, I'm in Oklahoma, the "Come on over and fuck us" state. We're opening all our resort cabins and hotels to these people that lost their homes. Who's more ignorant? a. The dumbasses who didn't leave Louisiana and are now killing each other to get the most "stuff", or b. The legislature of Oklahoma for inviting them to live here.
What a shitty state. I just paid $48 to put 15 gallons of gas in my damned car.
