Lars von Trier's The Idiots.
Das boot was an excellent film, and An excellent mini series. on that note... das boot trivia, the original series was over six hours long. The movie was edited from the series.
I'm not sure about The Idiots but the TV series Kingdom is fine surreal work with so much atmosphere and some great characters. Stephen King re-worked it but I haven't seen that one. Was the tv Idiots uncut, part of their banned in the UK series?

not entirely sure as i fell asleep before it came on, but i presume it was the uncut version as it was part of the banned in britain season.
From my memory of seeing a housemates copy the only difference was the graphic sex in, which perhaps wasn't a great loss from such a movie, if you've seen the seen you'll know why.
