Omega Sydrome reaches 2.0

Post by Mr. Teatime »

[Game -> Update] - More info on Company: Australian Game Developers | More info on Game: The Omega Syndrome

The Omega Syndrome,
a game that's not post-apocalyptic but a Fallout clone in every other
area, has been updated to version 2.0. Here's the announcement and
changelog:

THE OMEGA SYNDROME UPDATED TO VER 2.00!

Changes To Skills!

Thief skills have been added including Steal, Lock Pick, Sneak, Disarm Traps and Detect Traps!

Guarded Containers and Traps!

You can trade with and steal from containers that are owned by shop
keepers and other people in the game. Also traps have been to added to
some containers and some nasty proximity traps have been sprinkled
throughout the game.

Doors!

Locked doors have been added to hinder access to some very interesting areas.

Note:

If you already own OS and want to play VER 2.00, you need to download the latest versions of the demo and Add On 1.

You can look at a screenshot of those new skills here. Something I never noticed before is the presence of SPECIAL. If Herve had the ability, I'm sure he'd sue.

If you'd shower more often, I'd thank you properly.

Ok, no offense to anyone, but...

What's with this game? I downloaded

First of all, it looks like a DOS game.

Is there any sound at all in the game?

Seriously, no offense to anyone, but it just seems like a really bad ripoff of the Fallout game.

OK, no offense to anyone, but is this a DOS game? And where is the sound? Is it just not included in the demo?

Seriously, this makes no sense!

It's an indie game, so it doesn't have flashy graphics and awesome sound effects. It's all about the gameplay.

No, and the window that openned up when you launched the game should have tipped you off that it's a windows application. Also the Full Screen option there would have to be a huge hint.
And where is the sound? Is it just not included in the demo?
Try turning on your speakers.

The game might be ugly, but it is quite fun if you like the old skool flava.

Still, it really feels like a DOS game.

All I heard was a bunch of sound effects.

But what if I like Fallout 2 for different reasons other than it being old school?

Just because it's old school doesn't make it good. Just look at Golden Sun.

Another thing. The left and right mouse clicks. Why do they do the exact same thing?
