[Company -> Interview] - More info on Person: Leonard Boyarsky | More info on Company: Troika Games | More info on Game: Fallout 3 (Bethesda)

Leonard Boyarsky has been interviewed at Computer Games Magazine . It's not a long interview, but it's interesting nonetheless.
Computer Games - As you know Bethesda Softworks is now working on the next official Fallout game. Have you or any of the other Troika team members been contacted by BethSoft to work on the game and if not would you be interested in such an offer?

Leonard Boyarsky - As far as I know, none of my team members has been contacted by Bethesda. Tim, Jason, and I have definitely not been contacted. We'd be very interested in working with Bethesda on Fallout...

Computer Games - The fans of the first two Fallout games are very vocal and have followed your team since leaving Interplay and forming Troika. How does it feel to have that loyal of a following to your team and to a game series that you made several years ago?

Leonard Boyarsky - It's very gratifying and helped us through some of our dark periods. It's always nice to hear from people that they appreciate what you are doing. And we're extremely happy that there's a huge Fallout community, as that game, being the first that any of us were in charge of, was really a labor of love for us.

It would be awesome to see some of the original Fallout team hired by Bethesda for Fallout 3. I have doubts it will happen, but the will is there from one side, at least. I'm hesitant to put Bethesda on the spot, but...

Send them your resumes! My personal excitement level for Fallout 3 will rise exponentially if they were hired by Bethesda.

Computer Games - In your letter to No Mutants Allowed, you hinted blah blah blah

For the record, Mr Computer Games, it was a community letter sent to DAC and RPG Codex as well as NMA.

Maybe we should start sending death threats to Bethesda to get them to hire Troika?

Along with the usual, everyday, death threats we send them?

Yup, I already get a good number of death threats. I find most of them to be fairly humorous when even slightly intelligible. That's a rare occurrence though.

ur fukin ded faget

Anyways, someone far more witful than I at RPG Codex pointed out that BethSoft hiring ex-Troikites for FO3 as 'consultants' or something would smack of Carstenism, though at least it's more plausible and perhaps appropriate.

just hiring them as regular developers and not that oversees hired FO3 janitor shit cartisan was trying to pull. I wouldn't expect them to have any high roles in the developement team but they meet all the requirements and they developed the original fallout and some of FO2, just for a FYI on the resume lol. Its 3 developers that are gold for a position on the project.

Its a cool idea but I still would be surprised if bethesda actually did it. Its not like they are in high demand for developers right now since FO3 isnt in full development.

Bethesda did have a few positions open that mention knowledge of Fallout games as part of the job description. Remember?

Of course Bethesda would've probably contacted them once they heard about Troika problems if they wanted them, so we probably won't see Troika members working for Bethesda.

I guess it's pretty much obvious It'd be most desirable if Bethsoft hired our beloved 'Tres Amigos' of Fallout's Interplay and Arcanum's Troika.
The more control they have the better, esp. as regards storyline and the general style and feel (yeah yeah Ok, gameplay too). Yet, if they were to become 'merely' consultants, I don't think this would resemble the Carsten-Puke relation. Hopefully. After all, Beth guys like Fallout a lot more than SS. (Silver Style, not the Nazis icon_wink )
