[Company -> Update] - More info on Person: Tim Cain | More info on Person: Jason D. Anderson | More info on Company: Troika Games

Direct from Leonard Boyarsky.
As many of you may have already heard, Troika has laid off all of its employees and is closing its doors due to our inability to secure funding for future projects. We have not yet made the decision as to whether Troika Games as an entity will regroup and pursue future projects or simply cease to exist. We want to thank all of our fans for their support these past seven years, it has really meant a lot to us that there were people out there who enjoyed our games enough to create fan-sites and follow our progress as a company. But we especially want to thank all of our employees - we had the pleasure of working with the some of the most dedicated, hard working, creative people in the industry, and we really appreciate all that they did for Troika.

Thanks for everything,

Tim, Leonard, and Jason
Don't leave us to an industry of generic rubbish, guys icon_sad

Well. fuck.

I do hope they would be able to somehow work together (The three founders), and make some more great games.

I'm curious about this - do they have the funds to reform the company and start afresh?

Maybe but I doubt it, most likely they will just try to join a company together with Troika pals on the resume or something.

I'd like to know where they end up, hope it's a decent spot somewhere. We might see them make or influence some good games yet.

Maybe they'll get some cushy jobs with Herve working on the new SLAM DUNK FOOL game?

I'm sure they'll end up doing some great/decent games; this kind of talent and experience just can't be wasted like that, were it merely for the down-to earth goal of making money on it.

It's a shame we never saw them as regulars on the various forums. Especially as some think of them as near-gods.

What the hell? I disappear for four or five months and you guys let Troika go? Jeez. Nice and responsible.

Back on topic, Troika hasn't made anything great that I know of, Arcanum had a great plot (but poor gameplay in my opinion), and I hear good things about Vampire, but it's the simple idea. I can't think of another company that I have even the vaguest hopes of producing a mediocre game. Oh well.

Is that language you're using supposed to be English? Because I usually understand that. What did you mean by "vaguest hopes of producing a mediocre game"?
