There's some sneaky code to prevent copying and pasting a quote, but I beat the system:

<blockquote><em>There are actually many, many factions in the Auto
Assault universe you will be exposed to as you play the game, three of
which are playable races.&#160; The default server ruleset allows you
to join one of the 3 main player races when you create a new character
(Humans, Mutants or Biomeks).&#160; Everyone on the same player race is
on the same team from a gameplay standpoint, so there is no confusion
or worry about backstabbing traitors.&#160; This sets up a friendly
cooperative environment for PvE, but maintains a competitive
environment against the other 2 races in PvP.&#160; So if you're a
Mutant, and you see another Mutant out in the world, you know he's your
friend. Of course, "if any of you are wondering who the best is," you
can always throw down against members of the same race in the Arenas,
but that is 100% consensual and optional.

guessing those factions will include MMORPG staples the rat faction,
the larger rat faction and the differently-coloured rat faction.
