They make psychedelic trance. More or less, at least. the latest stuff falls under the trance genre, but I've yet to figure out if it's progressive they're aiming for, or psy. the other side from Converting Vegetarians is a bit hard to define, for instance... sounds to me like crap, mostly, although it still holds their style.

....AND Prodigy (AONO was the most disappointing album ever, although every album preceeding it was gold).
Infected Mushroom is kind of neat, a lot of their music has drug themes, which I can dig. They're from Israel, you know!
I'm not too crazy about them, though. I would definitely recommend Leftfield instead. They're one of the pioneers of electronic music in the early 90s. Check out the album "Leftism."
But really, the best group in electronic music today is Massive Attack.

I know with certainty that if I did that, it wouldn't be for musical advice. Feck, I'd have to restrain myself from removing vocal chords aplenty.Neon Dingo wrote:Maybe it's because he married a member of the All Saints?
I don't care enough about the opinions of others to experience that thankfully. I just found AONO a sadly, severely disappointing experience. Ah well, I'm glad for what was.Neon Dingo wrote:the album was so awful I actually felt embarassed just listening to it.

Let's look at the singles in comparison:
Breathe - Probably one of the most memorable tracks to get air play in the late 90s. Has an unmistakably catchy hook, and raw, visceral vocals that dropkicked you in the face and left you bleeding on the curb.
Firestarter - Hailed by critics as the last great single of modern music, which I can definitely agree with, considering the poor state of music these days.
Smack My Bitch Up - The video was amazingly well done, went on to win several awards, and caused lots of controversy.
Girls - Sounds great in a car with a good sound system, but there's nothing really memorable about the track. The beat is there, but it sounds a bit cheesy at times. The video looked like a cheap Toys R Us commercial, and this is probably the better of the three.
Memphis Bells - When I hear this song I think of an annoying cell phone ringtone. The bells are just irritaiting and don't really work.
Hotride - What made Liam decide to use the girl from Natural Born Killers in this song, I don't know. The lyrics are terrible. I mean, come on, it's a song about a fucking hot air balloon.
Up and awaaay, in my beautiful, my beautiful....
vs.
Breathe the pressure! Come play my game I'll test ya! Psychosomatic, addict insane!
I dunno about you, but it's plain as day which album is better.

You're starting to read as irritatingly as the people who write 'reviews' for Amazon . . . Not good.
Oh, look at that. I'm a spammer apparently ! Grand. Jerry Falwell is an . . . interesting choice, I admit.

Aside from the singles (I'll admit that "Firestarter" and "Smack My Bitch Up" are excellent), Fat of the Land is really nothing special. It had a huge impact, but the whole is lesser than the sum of its parts. And "Breathe" was insanely overplayed. I can't even listen to it anymore.
AONO, on the other hand, is solid from start to finish. There are some weak spots, of course, but it has a lot of energy and feels fresh. And the singles are hardly the best tracks on the album - check out "The Way It Is", "You'll Be Under My Wheels", "Phoenix", and "Spitfire", to name a few.
I think both albums are good, but AONO is more well-rounded.
