SEO Basics

Holy shit I was actually going to make a topic about this. At my dads company that I'm working at now they want me to do the SEO of the website so I'm looking to hire a SEO consultant but they all sound like flakes or want to do stuff like make 100-200 different websites.

I've decided that I'm going to do it myself and just post shit on random blogs on subjects I don't really care about and somehow put my link in them.

Anyone here have any experience with SEO?

maybe we all could post stories about your dads company on dac then when someone googles it they find dac instead its a win-win situation and a no-loss situation at the same time

mr snake was an expert in this field iirc

My dad actually fired someone from his work like 2 years ago and the guy blogged about it and its more popular than pretty much everything except the main website. My dad replied and it started a discussion which I think Google likes.

Man I just had a guy quote me $6,500 for doing it. He wants to set up hundreds of pages and have like a database so you just type something and it modifies it all over and then he wants some upkeep charge.

Also had another guy who said he can't tell me what he will do because it's "trade secret" which probably means he will set up tons of other domains and the moment I stop paying he redirects them to someone else for ransom.

It's pretty hard to judge who is a good SEO person when they don't really tell you what they will do

Contractual terms need "data hostaging" clause.

We hired a guy who said we were saying the keyword too many times and google was listing us as spam probably. It helped improved our site but he still wants me to make 2 blogs a week with keyword focus, and that has been a pain in the ass because I don't know what to write about but keep it relevant.

My conclusion of SEO is that it's all bullshit and to just keep it real and you will rise the charts.
