The Civ IV complete pack is about $6.50. Is it worth it or should I just stick with Civ III?

If it has all the expansions, then yeah. I'd buy it.

You seem pretty okay, new guy, but I need the opinion of a DAC patriot before I spend the lordly sum of $6.24 plus tax. :salute:

I concur, if it includes the entire lineup of IV titles it's a great deal.

Civ IV is worth six bucks, to me. You may not like it as much as Civ III but its certainly not a bad game.

Then it is decided, unless Blargh comes in to veto this at the eleventh hour.

As a representative of Blargh I can say that Civ 2 is the best hands down but that cheap of a price is worth grating yourself into, provided you haven't any other.

I have Civ III, but it and Windows 7 don't play nice when it comes to things like the ending sequence.

Beyond the Sword is the only version of Civ IV worth playing, its an expansion pack but it seems like to me it has the most content overall.

Blargh is, I fear, two days too late to save me $6. Either the systems have changed enough to make me clueless, or this game isn't as good as its predecessor.

Is there some reason I have to feed five units of knights into a battle to kill one fucking unit of axemen out in the open?

Conquests is far superior to this shitter.
I tried Call to Power 2 a few days ago since my brother bought it on GOG. To be fair, I didn't give it much of a chance but I didn't like it. It had some awesome new features but I couldn't stomach the graphics so uninstalled it. Apparently it is supposed to be great due to its modability, there are a gazillion mods out there, ranging from those that drastically enhance the AI to custom scenarios.

Medieval 2: Total War is quite addictive. 6 hours flew right by one night doing the campaign.

I'm actually getting into it now. Just spent 3 hours playing it without realizing I had been playing for three hours. I had to go to war because the damn French-Chinese thought they had a right to Hawaii.

I'm liking how diplomacy is more complicated and yet more transparent than in Civ III, but on the other hand Civ III was a game I played for 36 hours straight after first getting it.
