Looks pretty cool, much better than the abomination that was Civ IV.

you're pretty new to pc gaming and pc-gamin online journalism, huh?

Vas, did you actually play the IV? I installed it together with the expansions and it was pretty good. I liked the unit upgrades.

No not really. I've been playing PC games for as far back as I can remember, it's just the Civ series happens to have passed me by. I knew it was there, just...never got around to playing it. As for pc-gamin online journalism? Yeah, never really bothered with any form of online journalism really, cept Manchester Evening News, and WWTDD, and even the last one was just to whack off to Miley Cyrus in her bra.

I guess up until the last couple of years or so, I was more into PC-FPS, like Soldier of Fortune, SWAT, Kingpin etc

I did play a couple of games, but then I reverted back to Hearts of Iron. There simply weren't enough improvements from Civ 3 and the graphical look was annoying.

CivIV really was enjoyable with the expansions and some user-made maps, like World Map with 40 civs D:

I'm still more of an Alpha Centauri type of guy. In my opinion CIV's been going downhill ever since n:o II came out. But at least the *looks* of CIV V are quite promising...

word. was hoping for a SMAC sequel before the next civ, but I guess I'll just have to keep hoping. And another civ is still good news.

Not sure about how smac plays multiplayer tho'.

ehue
I just read this over at civfanatics regarding SMAC:
The Alpha Centauri IP is owned by Electronic Arts. Firaxis is owned by Take 2 Interactive. So no, I guess there won't be an Alpha Centauri 2 in the immediate future.
Still, there's always modding.

O, to be able to experience SMAC anew. Multiplayer marathons have, by this point, burnt out the appeal. What A Shame I am in no rush to indulge the coat hanger lottery. :drunk:
