Oblivion Movie In Development
[ Film & TV -> Article ]

Funnily enough, this Oblivion has more to do with Fallout than with Bethesda's game. Oblivion is a post apocalyptic concept being developed by Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski.

The story is set in
post-apocalyptic Earth, where civilization lives above the clouds and
scavengers illegally collect artifacts from the polluted and destroyed
surface below. When one young scavenger discovers a crashed spacecraft
planetside--and a beautiful women within--he rejoices at the find.
Little does he realize that his discovery will lead him to a journey
filled with romance, adventure and unimaginable danger.

Check out the whole story here.

I thought he might be related to Jerzy but apparently he isn't.
The Tron trailers are looking smooth.
There's also the new Logan Run ("Tim Sexton (Children of Men) is working on the script, which is said to adhere more closely to the novel than the original film")
And now this
- quite a lot of trust in a guy who only did (highly polished) commercials.

Irony. And I would think the last Logan's Run alternative would be The Island.
Also-- it's worth downloading it to see a single scene most people miss; when Scarlett and Kenobi are in the massive hall, fleeing the guards with the harpoon-pistols with a 'contamination' warning in the background, they slide down a horizontal concrete surface and begin running down a hallway. As it cuts in, McGregor is yelling, Get outta the way!" He pushes someone in front of him slightly to the right, who has a major collision with Johansen right before the angle shifts again.
Guaranteed lulz
EDIT:
Found a clip. About five minutes, ten seconds in. Also, the yelling doesn't start until after. Memory was about right on everything else, though.

The Tron Legacy trailer looks pretty good.

Jeff Bridges looks like a warlord or something.

Alice Underground .... rewound (too tight?) and replayed (too strange?). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1014759/
I find the character selections of the director / producer interesting enough to consider a DVD viewing.
Doubt I can be harmonically blitzed these 'last days' to trek to a big screen, to hear the self important answer their twittering cell phonies.
Not a group experience I wish to PAY for.
:snarky:
Sampled a few video blogs looking for the teaser trailer, and man, people posturing on the small screen, talking down an audio link with the clarity of a pvc pipe, if they had a message, text would have been their medium.
Recall, a face for radio? Now consider, a twit for text, only, as a meaningful response.

my feeling is that in the past he would follow his artistic vision with more passion. Now I feel the focus moved somewhat to the marketing department.
Or maybe I'm just becoming a sentimental old fool. Or maybe I was influenced by how colourful the trailer is?
After all, Corpse Bride and Swinney Todd were pretty sweet (although I hated the songs in Todd as I don't like musical)

I never saw corpse bride, but I love Nightmare before Christmas. I pretty much like everything I've seen of Tim Burton, especially Beetlejuice and the original Michael Keaton Batman. There's a certain thing about his style that I find really entertaining.
