This is actually really good news imo. While I liked the idea of exploring the east coast in Fallout 3 (as did most of you too according to the poll I put on the main page about it), it will be really great to get back to the west coast and the history established in the first games. It also helps that they have at least a few original team members over there.

Is it confirmed that it's using the Fallout 3 engine? Or could there be a chance it'll use the NWN2 or something similar engine? (ie: something that does functional fucking combat)

Obsidian, which failed on Aliens: Colonial Marines?

Though I'd like them to get their prior committments straight, I can't blame them-- I've got the same problem. The vision is great, but fails to get carried out.

In any case, as long as they have learned from their mistakes, it'd be worth looking into.

I actually venomously hated the east coast setting of FO3. Perhaps I'm biased because I'm a west coast native but Fallout always reminded me of having very desert like surroundings that is dry and hot.

I didn't care at all about the setting being east or west coast; it was great, point.

That poll doesn't mean shit. Bethsidian will make their game design choices based on more accurate customer surveys.

ok, maybe the NWN2 engine is balls as well, but it's a fuckload better then that Fallout 3/Oblivion engine. The fact of the matter is, that I'd rather have them work on a game on an engine they know their way around (lol I know I know :insert poorly optimised joke here:) and actually make an interesting, fun, intelligent game then to spend most of their production time pissing around with the other poorly optimised piece of shit engine which they haven't used extensively.

I wish there was some wizz-bang engine that they had alot of experience with that catered to exactly what we want, but lets be realistic here. They're deving a game, and they don't have the biggest time-frame to do it in, which means that the less time pissing into the wind and scratching their heads with a game engine that they don't know, the better.

Food for thought - They only have about 18 months max to put out this game if they're gonna keep the production schedule without the inevitable delays. That ussually means to me that they have an engine ready.

My question? Could this mean they're gonna use the Dragon Age engine? To my knowledge, the PC version of Dragon Age is done, it was just delayed to finish the PS3 and 360 versions; both of which this Fallout game are gonna appear on. Here's for hoping.

AP I think is using a new engine or maybe it's an UE3 one? It's definitely not any engine they have had before.

Does anyone know why you play as Frat Daddy Jackson in Alpha Protocol? When I think spy I think James Bond, not Tanner "Bryce" Radcliff.
my vocabulary skills is above you.
