[ Community -> Update ] - More info on Game: Fallout 3
A quick look at the Fallout 3 Tech Support forums reveals a very disturbing trend. The game has been out for less than a day and there is already a great outcry among players. The PS3 community is especially angry. It looks like they were completely screwed over and Fallout 3 for the PS3 is almost unplayable. One PS3 blogger writes: As a PS3 owner, I've been constantly blogging about Fallout 3 and how
amazing it will be and letting people know recent news about the game,
and this is how i get treated after both doing this, and giving
Bethesda 60 bucks. I can't believe a patch hasn't already been
announced as on sites like Gamespot, the game is recieving LOWER
ratings simply because of these problems that are SO obvious in the
game. WHY THE HELL DOES THE GAME LAG EVERY TIME SOMEONE SIGNS IN/OUT ON
YOUR FRIENDS LIST??? NOT EVEN THE WORST OF PS3 PORTS HAVE THAT
PROBLEM!!!!! I'm not one of those kinds of people that go crazy over
small things exclusive to another console like the DLC, or the PC's
superior graphics, but this is OUTRAGEOUS. Draw distance, Framerate,
lighting,Anti-Aliasing etc. has all be Dumbed down so bad to a point
that it seems the developers did this on PURPOSE. I heard that Bethesda
Will release a patch for the ps3 version that fixes these problems if
we demand it so here i am demanding this. If you guys don't, then, I'll
be glad to go get my money back, and buy Farcry 2 instead and sign a
petition that goes against Bethesda.
PC players are reporting on constant crashes, crashes when creating new games, crashes on the intro video, and a load of other crash issues. As of the time of writing this post, this poll asks users if the game is working well for anyone. 69% said No. If you are experiencing issues with the game, then go here for PC problems, here for Xbox 360 problems, and here for PS3 problems. For some reason, I feel like the XBox problems will be the first to be fixed.

HIVE MIND.
Edit: Also - it appears that the review community knew about as subject of my story, but decided to say NOTHING about it. |

The Sexbox might be the first one to get an Official patch from Beth, but I'm willing to bet (based solely on the fact that it really is just Oblivion mod) that the fans and pirates get it fixed first, on PC. Arrr.
Edit for great clarification |

On the bright side, if it crashes you won't have to endure playing it. |

Ah, reminds me of Fallout 2 and every Troika release. At least they got something right. |

The tears. They're delicious.

I remember Fallout 2 crashes, but there were pretty much once every 2-3 hours apart for me, similar with Troika games. Exception to this is of course the wonderful Society of Leopold bug, which made me promptly return it and wait for the game to get fixed before getting a bargin bin copy.
I'm used to games crashing, I accept a degree of instability. Crashes that happen every couple of hours or so are bearable, and a great reminder of saving a game. It's when the crashes are so epically fail to the point that people crash on the opening videos that I just have to laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh. |

Crashing on a console is pretty sad but I think they had the same problems with Oblivion. The only problem I noticed so far was during the intro movie there was like these lines in the screen where everything on it would jerk. It was about 2 big lines and was kind of annoying. I know there was some jerkiness to the pictures during Ron Perlmon voice over but I think that was on purpose and it was the whole pictures. I don't think the lines in the intro part were intended but I don't get them while playing the game. |

Fallout 1 ande 2 never crashed on me, neither has the fallout 3 for PC.
It runs good, and looks good with most of settings not on high. I think it is a great game, just one thing that pisses me off. Everytime is stop or slow down from walking, my guy slides and when NPC's make turns, they slide around them like they are connected to a track. Though the dialogue is fucking amazing. I wonder how long that will last.
HAHA NICE!! that is funny. |

Maybe half of whatever vehicle you get in Fallout3 will disappear after 12 hours, just for verisimilitude. Oh, the happy memories...

Well so far I have the same freezes/crashes as I did with Oblivion., for the PC. It's very frustrating that I have to quicksave every time I look at a door, just to make sure I don't lose my progress... |

It's happening quite a bit. It's why the PS3 community is up in arms. |

Pretty silly that you spend over four years and millions of dollars wanking over things like teddy-bear-launchers and mini-nuke-catapults, but forget to make sure the thing actually works. Hot-damn! |

Nope it's fine. No stamina/endurance issue either because I have to step over a piece of carton. Wow they got something right! |
