Any kind of mapping walkthrough available?

Post by Beef »

I know I could spend my time unwisely searching through all the notes on this forum, but that would just be silly. I want to know if such a thing exists and where I can find it, and I want to know now! :P

A link would be handy, as I'm actually looking into advancing my brilliance at FoT from Multiplayer (I own, lets face it) to focus my skils of fast learning and originality on creating more fun for people to play on and make some damn maps!

Now I know a few of you will be a bit sceptical of this post, but I really would rather not throw myself in at the deep end by going through all the stuff written on this forum, and I decided not to post this in the general questionsey type area, because I think I might just get more help if I start up my own thread.

So people, help out an eager mapper-to-be will ya!? Cheers for any help guys!

Hey Beef, welcome :D While there is no one start to finish tutorial, there are a lot of good mini-tutorials floating around for areas that get a little tricky. I have a few listed that I am hosting, check this thread:

Maybe MV and OTB have some lying around? If you guys want I can compile some your tutorials and post 'em on my site?

Thanks for the help, I'll try out some little things and hope that putting them together makes sense. Lol, I know summer is coming and I'm not planning to spend all that time on map-making, I will be doing some active things, like, ur... getting drunk every day? Man, I love summer; it gives you more of a reason to drink your chilled beers quicker - they might go warm!

Sorry, I'm kinda straying from the topic in hand. Is there not an official Interplay guide available online? :P

Bwah-ha-ha-ha, Interplay guide.....ha-ha-ha

The closest thing to an official guide is the Editor Readme which I've html'd. It is the first one listed in the forum topic.

Sure - go right ahead. Just remember that when you post the tuts of mission debriefings, ambient sound, slopes, etc., that I just re-posted the tut and didn't make it myself :D
