Inside the Vault: Megan Sawyer

Post by JHMN »

[ Company -> Interview ] - More info on Company: Bethesda Softworks

New Inside the Vault focuses on Megan Sawyer, an environment artist at Bethesda. Here's a part of the interview:

Ever play the Fallout games?

Oddly, I never played them before we got the Fallout 3 license. I did acquire the games as soon as we got the license, and man, I love all the stuff they came with. That little booklet and everything is awesome. I’m such a sucker for games that come with cool stuff. I’ve never finished either one though — not for lack of interest, I’m
just very very bad at finishing games and very rarely do so. I’ve watched all of the speed runs, read everything I can on Fallout, studied screenshots, and watched every YouTube Fallout game play video I can. (...)

What is your favorite game from the past year?

Rayman: Raving Rabbids. BAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! Also, Pokemon Diamond, and Animal Crossing. I just got my second birthday cake in Animal Crossing last month. That’s either awesome or really scary, I’m still trying to decide which.

Read: Inside the Vault - Megan Sawyer

Spotted @ Bethesda Blog

So watching all the speed runs and studying every video of Fallout on youtube makes her qualified to help create this game?

They should give you a stop watch to count the number of minutes before you blow your computer up after trying to play it.

Megan admits freely that she never finishes any game at all. I like, however, both the look of the environments she makes - and -ahem- the look of her ;)

I think that Todd Howard actully finished both Fallout 1 and 2 - in a twist of of irony. It seems to me, though, that Pete Hines don't know that a FPP can have turnbased gameplay?? (assuming that it can, of course).

1UP did an interview with Emil P. in which he says the same - both in some other words...

After Bethesda is done with Fallout 3, the Fallout franchise will be less worth than dutch prostitutes.

Fast. Die Pizza gibt's auch ohne Pilze.

What do a pizza and a polish hooker have in common?
