Warcry interviews NetDevil on Auto Assault fate

<p> <a target="_blank" href="http://aa.warcry.com">Warcry</a> interviewed <a target="_blank" href="http://www.netdevil.com/">NetDevil</a> CEO Scott Brown about the fate of their post-apoc MMORPG facing the chopping block. For those that are too lazy to scroll down an article, the games community has been pushing for NetDevil to continue the game by buying the IP back from the publisher.

sort of left it where it is," Brown told WarCry in a phone interview
late Thursday. "We just couldn't come to an agreement."</em></p>
<p><em> NCSoft owns the intellectual property that is Auto Assault. This
means they own the name, the story, the idea, the art and anything that
directly relates to the game. The code-base and engine that power the
game remain the property of NetDevil.</em></p></p><p>
</p><p><em> "We are certainly looking at other ways we can use what we do own," Brown added.</em></p><p> </p></blockquote><p> </p><p> This effectivly only leaves another developer to buy the IP from publisher <a target="_self" href="http://www.ncsoft.com/">NCsoft</a>, or for them to cave to the community pressure, to allow the game to remain.
