Is setting the apocalypse in Russia some sort of new trend?

It's made after a book that a Russian penned.
all based on a story by Russian author Dmitriy Glukhovskiy.
From what I heard, it's slated to come out near the same time as Bethesda's game. :giggle:
Should be funny to see the two fight over it.

Russia made a bid to the rest of the world to allow its country to be the setting for all post-apocalyptic games from now on. It's a money thing.

It just occurred to me, why doesn't the player check the TANK of the toilet, rather than the fucking bowl? There should be at least marginally cleaner water in there, and a lot more of it.

I know, but I'm a Hong Kong OCG :yo: and Hard Boiled is a great movie.

I never read the comic, but it looks sweet. Hope I can find it in Montreal :aiee:

Yes, of course there would be more water in there and also slightly more CLEAN water, I would hope. But the whole point of this 'drinking from a toilet bowl' is not to make any sense at all, but to cater to the minds of adolescents kids - no wait - cater to grown-ups in their twenties that still think it is fun to remember the days of high school when they forced someone to drink from the toilet bowl - acting like 8 years old.

The same goes with the exploding heads in slow mo - it is something that boys aged 8-12 love to see. Grownups maybe - not so much.

The difference is that this one takes place in Eastern Europe, and Russia.
Here's the linkage: http://ps3.ign.com/objects/849/849116.html
It's comming out for the PS3 and the PC.
isn't it the thingy from the fired Stalker devs?

edit: oh yes it is. I googled: Metro 2033 Stalker
and the first result is "Metro 2033: Stalker-Klon von Ex-GSC-Mitarbeitern"

If they can pull off most of what they are bragging about now, it will be a contender.

The game, Metro 2033, sounds more 'fallout' than fallout 3 does to me....at least when you read the August 17, 2006 preview. If they can pull all of this off, I'm definitely getting this game....

It might at first look like a STALKER clone, but this game, Metro 2033, apparently also has the character involved in politics and such things.

It also sounds it has more options for the player to
play through the game than FO3 will have...

I am checking out the forums for that now.
This sounds good too:
The game is currently being developed for pc platform,
but later is planned to be ported to PS3 and Xbox360.
While PS3 having higher priority.

Hard Boiled was a great movie too, though I prefer the psychology of Bullet to the Head.

If you can't find it in Montreal, you can always come down to Toronto and get it at the Silver Snail.

Honestly, I don't see the whole "drinking from toilet for water retarded lolz" thing. Am I the only one who actually sees water in a toilet, simply from rain, etc?

Re: equilibrium killcount.
Don't forgot all the rebel shoot out things, during the end and stuff. A good 30-odd would've come simply out of that alone.

Well yea, but for some odd reason, I guess my mind just didn't register 236 kills throughout the whole movie. I'm sure they're there, I just didn't think it was that high.

Well Russia is good because you don't need anything new to happen for it to become post-apoc D;

It's funny how many heroic bloodshed movies make it into that top. But it makes sense; heroic bloodshed films are mostly about shooting people.

A Better Tomorrow I and II are good movies, tho', and The Killer is a fuckin' classic.
